I liked the May 16, 2026 Slylock Fox cartoon, Count Weirdly with genetically altered skin containing chlorophyll. I wrote a science fiction novel with that premise called ‘Viridian: The Photosynthetic Child’. Although I won an award (novel in progress) for it by the Literature Department of Purdue University no publisher was interested in publishing it. So I self-published it. It’s an interesting novel about how society reacts to the new people, the new species.
Hi Rich! Thank you. Great title! I wish you had found a publisher. Have you thought of sending it back out? It’s a very an intriguing premise.I believe there is a sea slug that grabs chlorophyll from algae, and stores it for months in their gut cells, performing some photosynthesis.
